March 2011 archive

This was the day I married the love of my life. Paris, 2008.

The MAKE IT COUNT contest series hit Santa Ana this past weekend, and so many kids came out for it. It was good times, all around!

The entry fee to skate in the contest is a canned food item, which is then donated to  local charities. The whole event has an awesome community feel to it.

The Element family was there to cheer on the awesome skating that went down. Element Advocate, Mike Kershnar came out and painted a mural, Nick Garcia and Julian Davidson made us all smile, and the team judged the skating that went down.

Congratulations to Edgar Barrera who won the contest. We will be seeing you at Element YMCA Skate camp!

Here are a couple of photos I shot from the day.

Kirk, Adam, and I met up with Aussie comrade, James last night. Then we went to see Japanther play a rad gig at The Smell, in LA, and shit got nuts.

Ian Vanek of Japanther.

Matt Reilly and friend.

The Mexican gay bar next door was awesome.

Todd Rogers, the mastermind behind Tonebutcher, makes amazing custom pedals by hand.

These things were hell to shoot, but I love the way each one of them looks like a creature.

Check out the Tonebutcher site here and if you’re in Costa Mesa, check out his studio space; it is so rad.

Been working on a new Stop motion project… Can’t wait to show you guys!
