We visited the amazing creative duo, Kozyndan for SHELTERBLACK recently. As a huge fan of their work, this visit was one of the most exciting visits we have ever done! Also, I didn’t think it was possible but, Kozy is seriously cuter in real life!!
The pair have been collaborating on artwork since they met in art class and haven’t stopped since. During our visit we got to peek at paintings and sculptures they have been working on for an upcoming exhibition.
You can see their work at GR2 until September 25th. Go check it out if you live in Los Angeles.

Some detail shots of Chad Muska’s artworks from his solo exhibition; Deconstructionism.
Deep up in the Hollywood Hills, among the rich and famous, dwells a creative mastermind by the name of Chad Muska. He’s been in the limelight of the skate, fashion, music and art scene since the mid 90s. Chad’s energy and creativity is infectious, and I love any chance to work with this amazing creature.
Here is a series of images I shot for SHELTERBLACK while Kirk and I were visiting Chad in his West Coast residence.
For me, one of the great passions in life is to sit in my studio with a needle and thread, simply creating something that makes people smile. This is a skill that has been handed down from generation to generation, as both of my grandmothers were textile artists along with my mother and now myself.
This is my website, which houses all of my creatures, who are sewn with love, and created from felts and pre-loved fabrics. I am proud to continue the legacy of an ancient craft that once was considered a woman’s virtue, yet sadly is becoming forgotten.
My other love in life, photography will soon be featured on my site. In the meantime, and forever, the site will house my blog, including updates of illustrations, photography, sewn creatures, and coming features and projects. So please subscribe and most importantly, enjoy!
